Looking to push your MX-5 beyond stock limits? The Boundary Stage 2 oil pump is an essential upgrade for builds running a higher rev limiter or incresed power such s turbo or supercharger build.

Stage 2 features a deeper machined pocket and larger gears which increases oil flow. With the improved oil flow, the Stage 2 pump is perfectly suited for VVT-equipped engines or builds requiring increased oil flow, offering better performance and reliability under high-stress conditions.

OEM cast gears are prone to shattering under shock loads caused by high RPM limiters or boost cuts, leading to catastrophic engine failure. This Boundary oilpump elimintes this problem by using billet gear. With the stock gears rated at only 6KSI of stress, these billet gears provide a massive upgrade, handling up to 90KSI of stress.

Boundary’s oil pumps are built from the ground up with a brand-new gear assembly, they undergo the following process:

• The pump is disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, air-blasted, and hand-inspected.
• Each part is hand-deburred for smooth operation.
• The pump features an industry-leading mirror-finished Stage 1 gear set.
• Stainless Torx fasteners replace the stock bolts, torqued to spec with Loctite applied to prevent backing out.
• Anaerobic sealant is applied in critical areas to boost pump-up speed and reduce aeration.
• Assembly lubricant is added to ensure quick oil flow on startup.
• The final product is blueprinted and comes with a detailed specification sheet.

This assembled pump is designed for 1990-2005 MX-5 engines, excluding the 2001-2005 1.8 VVT models, which require the Stage 2 pump or higher. Note: the front main seal is not included.
