Hummelink Modifications @ MAS2024
With over one million cars sold, the MX-5 / Miata / Roadster is the best selling two-seater convertible in history. Therefore it's no surprise there are multiple events and meetings around the globe, purely dedicated to our beloved roadster. If you're reading this anywhere in the Benelux, Germany or even further abroad than the Miatas at Summertime name (or MAS for short) should be a familiar one as this is one of the biggest MX-5 / Miata / Roadster only meetings in Europe. If your not familiar with this name than let this blog be a nice introduction to, in my opinion, one of the best weekends of the year!
About 90% of the people attending will camp out during the weekend but if you go camping with a Miata, you have to get creative. A widebody NB with a roof tent? Check!
Our beloved mx-5's are not exactly made out to take on a lot of luggage so why not make a Miata trailer hitch to carry all your stuff? Sure... why not!
I'm not sure what this contraption was but I guess it's a melting pot of the two idea's showed above. But hey... It ain't stupid if it works, right?
2023 was the first edition we attended with our own Hummelink Modifications stand and we decided that same weekend we would be present for 2024!
This year we had even more cars on display with some regular faces, like Bob's awesome NA and my blue NB...
... but this year I came prepared with a new, freshly build (by the master himself, Nils) 1.9 engine. Sporting the complete Hummelink Modifications catalogue of course.
More info on this build will follow in a later blog!
His immaculate Miata "M edition" with 209BHP N/A engine is always a crowd pleaser at events like this.
One of the new faces / cars for this years stand was Lars his 206BHP beast of an NA. Lars and his car shouldn't be that unfamiliar because not only is Lars the owner of Skids'n'Tea, we also did a blog on his car already which you can find here; The all motor 206HP MX-5.
Perhaps the biggest show stopper at our stand this year was this 2.0 stroker VVT engine, build by Hummelink Modifications. Unfortunately there wasn't enough time to have this beast finished and back in the car in time for this years MAS but on the bright side, you have something to look forward to for next time!
Although not finished, our customer Mike was more than happy to talk about the ins-and-outs of this build and why he wants an engine capable of 500BHP and yes, those numbers are correct; five hundred! The goal on pump gas is +- 350BHP but with ethanol we are aiming for 500BHP. Specs and a complete blog on this build will follow in the future!
This might be a shameless plug but a first for us this year was actually selling our own merch. My crappy picture doesn't do it justice but the quality and fit is excellent and the good news is, you can buy them online as well >> HERE!! <<
It's save to say that this years edition of Miatas at Summertime was a great succes for us as well. We will definitely be back for the next edition with even bigger plans. Unfortunately, from now on the event will be held bi-yearly but we will be there in 2026!
That being said;
- If you have a cool event in the Netherlands, Germany of somewhere else in Europe that could be worth checking out for us and have our own stand than don't hesitate to give us a shout!
- Fancy something you've seen in this blog? Want a high horsepower build yourself? Looking for ITB's kits for your 1.6 / 1.8 NA or NB?
In both cases, our contact form is only one click away. Just click >> HERE <<!
We would like to thank everyone who paid our stand a visit during this awesome weekend.
Special thanks to our customers and friends who made their cars available for us during the event and a special thanks to the Miatas at Summertime crew for another great weekend.
Some more impressions can be found below!
